about

Last year (2017) I watched a new documentary about Charles Manson. The documentary contained a lot of never before heard audio footage from conversations Charles had with some sort of fan. I started taking notes as some of his comments were pretty eerie and ended up turning a number of his comments into the lyrics for this song.

Charles Manson was a very troubled soul with a terrible background that became a monster. I have no sympathy for him, only his victims.

lyrics

No Sympathy For Charles

I’m the king of crime.
I’m the criminal.
The juvenile delinquent.
The one that’s terminal.

It’s hard to tell the truth.
In a world like this.
No one really knows.
Keep ‘em in the darkness.

The rebel, the outcast,
the unwanted one.
I’m everything that everyone looks down upon.

Well there’s the fear.
The insanity.
So much confusion.
They gonna blame me.

The worst that you ever did.
A deal with the devil.
A curse of your existence.
On a whole new level.

The rebel, the outcast,
the unwanted one.
I’m everything that everyone looks down upon.

I don’t wanna race war
I don’t wanna hate no one
I’m down on my luck
Until they see I’m gone
Don’t wanna be a rockstar.
I’m not an entertainer.
They curse me to the heavens.
Tell everyone I killed her.

The rebel, the outcast,
the unwanted one.
I’m everything that everyone looks down upon.

Try and disrespect me
And I will destroy you
Look to my followers
They will deplore you

They’re never gonna find them
Left the bodies to the bugs
We’re gonna meet our maker
It’s not all love and hugs

The rebel, the outcast,
the unwanted one.
I’m everything that everyone looks down upon.

about

Scott Leslie Vero Beach, Florida

I’m a self-taught guitarist/songwriter and my influences are from the amazing music of the 60’s and 70's. In the late 60’s/early 70’s I had the good fortune to be a part-time roadie working the DC area, Baltimore, Philadelphia and New York for a number of bands. They included; The Jeff Beck Group, Ten Years After, The Doors, The Who, ELP and many others. So I had some interesting influences. ... more
